!!!

It's never going to happen, but it'd still be cool none-the-less. The hipster in me is somewhat disturbed by how much the Beatles have re-entered the public consciousness. Not that they ever really left, really. But they've sort of become really relevant to pop culture again. I think it's interesting that the music industry has gotten so testy from keeping a band on tab if their first album doesn't do well, that they've had to re-introduce bands that they know will do well. And what band has done better than the Beatles? Don't get me wrong. I love the Beatles. I'd much rather deal with them, then let's say, T-pain. But it feels like they're being shoved back into the pop culture lime light somewhat inorganically. The outcome of it has been largely mixed: sometimes it's good (the Love album) sometimes it's really weird (Across the Universe) and sometimes it's just god awful (the fact that FOX got the rights for the Beatles for the last two weeks of American Idol.) However, rocking to While My Guitar Gently Weeps on my Wii? That I can get behind. And it's a certainly better idea that what can only be described as Squeezebox Hero. Speaking about video games, though; I can't get my Wii to connect on WiFi to play Smash Bros. online. And it's making me all kinds of sad.

Also, bonus points for getting the subject.

I'm really quite ready for highschool to end. I don't hate it by any means. I've learned a lot about myself. Mainly the fact that if someone doesn't like me, or if something goes wrong, it's not always my fault. And that nugget alone was worth the four years. It's just time for it to end. And considering how it's already March tenth, with a week off next week; I haven't got too much to go.

However, the fact that I have to go a prom is still the thorn to my lion's paw. This is actually a school I really liked, so that's pretty awesome. So far that's five acceptances (Ithaca, Emerson, Bard, SUNY Albany and SUNY New Paltz) one deffered (BU's ED,) and a whole slew of schools I've yet to hear anything from (Clark, Skidmore, Sarah Lawrence, and BU... again), and a few schools I essentially gave sixty dollar donations to, because like hell I'm getting accepted (NYU, Syracuse.) Not terrible so far, if I can say so myself!

Also, I might not be calling any specific Academy Award wins, but I am calling that at least one major newspaper with talk about how the fact that Marion Cotillard and Javier Bardem won means that "Hollywood has finally gone global." I'm looking at you, The New York Times. Anyway, I really miss those silhouette dancers. The ones who made the gun from the Departed, and the bus from Little Miss Sunshine? But honestly, what could they make this year? An embigging pregnant stomach? A milkshake?
